"When The Orbit Curtain Falls" balladizes the day humankind meets extraterrestrial intelligence on a global level -- an apocalyptic event that would make the fall of the Berlin Wall seem insignificant by comparison.

West of town, past the wall from the Civil War
there's a lake that was made by the Army Corps
where on especially clear nights
the sky above swims with lights.
I point them out - they pass the test.
The world is bigger than we guessed
and when the orbit curtain falls
the globe will glow with urgent calls.
