Michael Garfield's quadrupedal performances from the cockpit of an acoustic-electronic starship are an invocation of the spirit of a place, a celebration of the sacred hours, and an adventure into unmapped musical terrain.
Recorded live at 3 AM on 24 September 2017, live in the Guan Yin Teahouse Tipi at the Tenth Annual Utopia Fest.
This unscheduled renegade set was made possible by my friend Chris Caballero's questionable off-label Chinese mobile PA system, in bizarre superposition with the silent disco happening just outside our tipi.
Improvised entirely on one track and then edited for time, what you hear is the raw late-night ineffable drawn down into the grit and glitch of a unique guitarist and cozy weirdness of psychedelic gong fu tea ceremony on a gorgeous autumn evening...
Dedicated to Evvan, the loudest silent part of this recording.
